Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic brought public life in Germany to a standstill. In the metropolis of Berlin, couples, families and singles were suddenly confronted with the problem that soci- al relationships they had been accustomed to until then and security in general including job opportunities were reduced to a minimum. Based on a small cohort of 6 members of the digital service industry („hipsters“), 6 Muslim family men working in the industrial sector and 5 gay men, all of whom were around 30 years old, the present study examined how over a period of four weeks (AprilMay 2020) sexuality in rela- tionships and families changed as a result of the pandemic.
