Abstract
In 2018 systemic therapy was approved by the „Gemeinsame Bundesausschuss (G-BA) as a therapy approach for adult dis- orders to be covered by German health insurances. The arti- cle reviews systemic-integrative therapy for sexual problems. It treats diagnostic, general psychotherapeutic issues (e.g. psychoeducation, dealing with one’s own limitations as a ther- apist), disorder specific aspects (pedophilia, gender identity disorders, trauma related disorders), as well as genuinely sys- temic interventions (e.g. establishing common therapy goals, therapeutic neutrality, exploration of the multi-generational contextgenogram, resource orientation, positive reframing, and the differentiation-oriented „crucible approach“ of David Schnarch). Specific interventions are illustrated in case stud- ies. The article summarizes the research on the efficacy of systemic therapy for sexual problemsdisorders and discusses the implications for clinical practice and future research.
