Abstract

Sexuality is not only used for reproduction and sexual pleasure, but also for communication and satisfaction of basic psychosocial needs. At first glance, this does not seem to play a role in sex work, since the protagonists do not encounter each other as people, but as customers. However, practical experience shows that reflection and inclusion of the relationship dimension can both protect sex workers themselves from negative consequences and also contribute to commercial success.
