Abstract

With the global spread of the corona-virus in 202021, the common mechanisms of social interaction were temporarily restructured. On the one hand, people reduced their exchange with others themselves; on the other hand, institutional requirements demanded the regulation and minimization of social activities. These restrictions inevitably affected the areas of eroticism and sexuality since they are primarily concerned with precisely those connections that apparently promote the spread of the virus — such as close proximity, which can arise not only in partnerships, but between strangers as well. The article explores the extent to which certain fields of intimacy have changed under these conditions. Three areas are considered: the discoclub scene, online dating services and prostitution.
