Abstract
The experience of the Prevention Project for Juveniles (PPJ) at the Institute of Sexology and Sexual Medicine of the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin showed that juveniles with sexu al interest in children and intellectual disabilities (IQ < 70) display a potentially increased risk to commit sexual offenses against children. Nevertheless, there is a significant shortage of both specialized treatment options and of residential care options for this group. The article gives an overview on diag nostics and therapeutic work of the PPJ in dealing with juveni les with intellectual disabilities and describes the development of an inpatient residential group together with the Evangelische Jugend und Fürsorgewerk (EJF).
